Say no to the world that fixes fat

Americans are getting fatter with every passing day as most of them eat a lot of junk food and sit in front of the computers or mobile phones or ipads and the entire excess energy gets stored in their body in the form of fats. Health professionals are seriously considering this fact as a serious problem as the increased obesity of the Americans is leading to many bad diseases like blood sugar, pregnancy problems and many more.

Records show that 72.5 million adult people in the USA are obese and this counts for 27% of the adult population. Due to the increase in the number of obese persons, the medical system will have to shell out $147 billion annually.

People are saying that one should eat less and exercise more in order to avoid those problems. But experts are of the opinion that only a change in the behavioral pattern will not solve the problem from the core. The main problem is the availability of plenty cheap fast foods and the saturated advertisements of those fatty, sugary products in different media.

The other factors which have been cited for this problem are absence of supermarkets in the smaller cities and also an increased stress at the workplace. So, the entire blame is on the environment which lures the people to eat all those junky foods and become fatty with every passing month. These fast food makers lure the different companies to act like them so that they can see an increase in their sales and profits.

Dr. Kelly Brownell has rightly pointed out that “Everyone knows that you shouldn’t eat junk food and one should do some exercise. But the environment makes it so difficult that fewer people can do these things, and then you have a public health catastrophe.”
