Breast cancer is the most common cancer seen among women. Do you know that walking can cut down the breast cancer risk? Yes the post menopausal women who walked for an hour every day are less likely to get breast cancer. A study had suggested that by walking you can reduce the chances of getting breast cancer. In this report they followed 73000 women for about 17 years who walked for an hour per day and found that it had lowered the risk of getting this disease. The UK experts said that risk of getting cancer depends on your lifestyle.
It’s not just the risk of cancer which can be reduced by walking but you can reduce the risk of getting several other cancers. In this study there were 73615 women out of 97785 aged 50-74 who were recruited for 1992-1993 and 47% women said walking for at least 7 hrs a week had 14% lower risk of breast cancer. It’s always best to prevent it rather than going for different treatments to cure the disease. As you increase your day to day activity and walking time, you can lower the risk of breast cancer even more. Walking alone is sufficient to reduce your risk of getting cancer.
