What Made NY Giants Win NFL Championship

In a tough battle which almost broke Twitter, New York Giants went on to defeat the San Francisco 49ers by 20 to 17 and with this win, they become the NFC champions. NY Giants is now all set to face the AFC Champion New England Patriots in a rematch of the Super Bowl XLII. The match will be played in Indianapolis on 5th February.

A major contrast of NY giants with their 2007 team is the absence of two difference players, one on each side of the ball. On the defense side, it was well known player Michael Strahan and on the other side of the ball, it was Plaxico Burress. But this time, Strahan has been replaced by Jason Pierre Paul who had 16.5 sacks this year. On the other hand, Plaxico has been replaced by players Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora.

But the biggest difference of all can be felt with the presence of Eli Manning. This NFL season saw a wonderful performance by Eli for NY Giants as he passed 7th in passer rating. He made to win the second playoff game in the Lambeau field and it was one of the most difficult games to play. His performance was truly sensational and he was a major factor of NY giants defeating the 49ers and winning the super bowl 2012 tournament.
