David Bowie Bags The Best British Male Trophy

Brit Awards 2014 honored David Bowie, the legend in the world of rock music, as the best British male. The ace singer has bagged two Brits earlier on including an honorary award in 1996. However the fans were deprived to see him as the singer was not there in person to receive the trophy. Kate Moss turned up and collected his prize. The best British female trophy was awarded to Ellie Goulding for her fantastic works.Among the others, the best group and best album was bagged by ‘Arctic Monkeys’, pop act ‘One Direction’ were honored for their global success for the second year running. It also won the best British video in a public vote.

The fantastic awards show also saw Kate Moss reading out a speech on Bowie’s behalf, in which he urged all the Scottish voters to reject independence.

Records however show a drastic fall in the viewership of the program. According to the obtained info an average of 4.2 million viewers watched the ceremony live on ITV when it was aired, the lowest ever audience since 1999.The last year show had 6.5 million viewers.
